Trico Asphalt is the production arm of the RPQ Group and was established in 2009. With both fixed and mobile production equipment the company specialises in the production of asphalt and foam bitumen stabilised pavement materials.

The heart of the operation is the Astec T200 portable asphalt plant located at Swanbank in Ipswich Queensland. The plant which features a double-drum mixer is designed to produce the full range of quality virgin mixes, recycled asphalt mixes, SMA and warm mix asphalt.

With an onsite NATA accredited laboratory and the new technologies available by the plant, Trico Asphalt can now offer specialty and/or "green" asphalt mixes by using a variety of recycled product, depending on the purpose, budget and specification dictated by the project or client.

For project work Trico Asphalt can come to you with the aid of a Benninghoven MMX 80 Mobile Asphalt Plant. This easily transportable plant can relocate and set-up in a matter of days and has all the capability to produce "green" asphalt mixes as well as highly specified asphalt mix. Accompanied with a mobile NATA Accredited laboratory, Trico Asphalt can supply the equipment, expertise and quality control for your project no matter what size or location.

Foamed bitumen stabilising of pavement materials is a process that Trico Asphalt specialises in. Trico Asphalt have over 20 years’ experience in this process which was developed overseas and uses bitumen foaming technology to produce a high quality ‘ex-situ’ bitumen stabilised road base, and utilises either recycled asphalt or pavement gravels blended with or 100% virgin pavement gravels.

Trico Asphalt owns and operates two mobile foam bitumen mixing plants, a Wirtgen KMA150 and KMA220 which can be readily mobilised to your site or quarry. Trico Asphalt’s manufacturing procedures are based upon best industry practice and the new QLD Transport and Main Roads Technical Standard MRTS09 and NSW Roads and Maritime Services R77 Specification. This ensures a high level of process control, QA traceability as well as a more efficient and effective “pug-mill” blending process to guarantee a consistent high quality product.

Trico Asphalt can also provide a mobile crushing and screening service either on equipment hire basis or as a full service.
